County Rescue Squad Members preparing to unload the boat into
the icy pond to rescue one of two family dogs (Midnight), who
fell into a neighbor's pond February 2, 2007.
Rescue
members unloading the boat. This was done by hand due to no ramps
being available. A rope was tied to the boat as a safety and
because of the ice, it also provided a quicker means to retrieve
the boat back to shore to be able to provide resuscitation efforts
to attempt to revive the animal.
Rescue Members Darren Chewning and Brandon Hamby paddling away
from the shore.

You can see the clear water ahead of the boat. The dog is just
out of the picture to the left of the front of the boat.
Rescue
members place the dog in the floor of the boat.
Rescue members have the animal back on shore and resuscitation
efforts have begun.
Rescue
members continue resuscitation efforts.
Although
many attempts were made, efforts were unsuccessful in saving
Midnight.
